Description

Sweet Potato Casserole is a creamy, comforting side dish featuring mashed sweet potatoes with a simple five-ingredient base and a crunchy pecan topping.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups mashed sweet potatoes (about 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cooked)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Topping:
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup chopped pecans
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×9-inch (or similar) baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix mashed sweet potatoes, sugar, eggs, milk, melted butter, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, chopped pecans, and softened butter until crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the sweet potato layer.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, until the topping is golden and the casserole is set.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving warm.
