Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp olive oil or sesame oil
- 1 cup sweet chili sauce (halal-friendly)
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1–2 tsp chili flakes (optional, for extra heat)
- Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Pat chicken dry, then toss with cornstarch until evenly coated.

- In a small bowl, whisk together sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes.
- Pour sauce mixture over the cooked chicken, tossing to coat evenly. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- For gluten-free, use gluten-free soy sauce or tamari.
- If you like more heat, increase chili flakes to 2–3 tsp or add a dash of hot sauce.
- Serve with steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables for a complete meal.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
