Description

Spooky Halloween Taco Dip is a haunting 7-layer dip with Mexican-inspired flavors, topped with a creepy sour cream spiderweb and an olive spider—perfect for Halloween parties and feeding a crowd!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
  • 1 cup sour cream (plus extra for the spiderweb)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (about 1 oz)
  • 2 cups guacamole (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 cup fresh salsa or pico de gallo
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  • ½ cup sliced black olives (reserve 1 whole olive for the spider body)
  • ½ cup chopped tomatoes
  • ½ cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
  • Tortilla chips, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix refried beans with half the taco seasoning. Spread evenly in the bottom of a shallow serving dish.
  2. In another bowl, mix 1 cup sour cream with the remaining taco seasoning. Spread over the bean layer.
  3. Spread guacamole evenly over the sour cream layer.
  4. Add a layer of salsa or pico de gallo.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the salsa.
  6. Top with chopped tomatoes, green onions, black olive slices, and cilantro if using.
  7. To make the spiderweb: place a few tablespoons of sour cream in a small piping bag or zip-top bag with the tip snipped. Pipe concentric circles on top of the dip, then drag a toothpick from the center outward to create a web effect.
  8. For the spider: cut one whole black olive in half for the body and use thin strips of olive for the legs. Place on top of the web.
  9. Serve immediately or chill for up to 4 hours before serving with tortilla chips.

Notes

  • Best served with tortilla chips.
  • Chill up to 4 hours before serving for a set, party-ready dip.
  • Optional cilantro garnish adds fresh color and aroma.
