- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 large eggs
- ½ cup warm milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup raspberry jam (seedless or regular)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- In a stand mixer bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Add eggs and warm milk. Mix on low speed until dough starts to come together.
- Add butter gradually while mixing, then knead for 8–10 minutes until dough is smooth and elastic.
- Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle. Spread jam evenly, leaving a border.
- Roll up the dough tightly into a log. Slice the log lengthwise and twist the two halves together, keeping the cut sides facing up.
- Place in a greased loaf pan, cover, and let rise again for 45–60 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush with egg wash and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Let cool before slicing. Best enjoyed slightly warm or toasted.
