- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- ½ tsp ground ginger

- ½ cup pumpkin puree
- ¼ cup milk
- ¼ cup melted butter
- 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup chopped pecans
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 ½ cups hot water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and all spices.
- Add pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined.
- Spread batter evenly into the prepared dish.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, granulated sugar, and chopped pecans. Sprinkle this evenly over the batter.
- Carefully pour the hot water over the top (do not stir).
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the center is set and a gooey sauce has formed underneath.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
