Description

Halloween Deviled Eggs: Creepy, colorful, and devilishly delicious—these spooky deviled eggs are the perfect Halloween party appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 hard-boiled eggs
  • Food coloring (black, purple, green, or other)
  • Water (enough to cover eggs)
  • Splash of white vinegar
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp mustard (Dijon or yellow)
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of pepper
  • Optional garnish: paprika, chia seeds, or parsley

Instructions

  1. Gently crack the eggshells by tapping with the back of a spoon or rolling them lightly on the counter, keeping the shells on.
  2. Fill a container with enough water to cover the eggs, then add food coloring and stir.
  3. Place the cracked eggs in the colored water, adding more water if needed to fully submerge them.
  4. Cover with a lid or plastic wrap and soak for at least 3 hours or up to overnight in the fridge.
  5. Remove eggs, rinse with water and a splash of white vinegar to set the color, then peel carefully.
  6. Slice eggs in half lengthwise, removing yolks to a mixing bowl.
  7. Add mayonnaise, mustard, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper to the yolks. Mix well, then add food coloring until you reach your desired creepy hue.
  8. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg whites.
  9. Garnish with paprika, chia seeds, or parsley for extra flair.
  10. Serve chilled for maximum spooky effect.

Notes

  • Color the eggs in advance for deeper or more even hues.
  • Use different color combinations to create a variety of creepy looks.
  • Chill the assembled eggs before serving to help the filling set.
  • Leftovers should be stored in the fridge and consumed within 1–2 days.
