Halloween Brookies: A chewy, fudgy mashup of brownies and cookies topped with spooky Halloween candies.

- 1 box brownie mix (plus eggs, oil, and water as called for on the box)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- ½ cup Halloween-themed candy (like candy eyeballs, orange & black M&M’s, crushed Oreos, sprinkles)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Prepare the brownie batter according to the box instructions. Pour into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix melted butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth. Add egg and vanilla and stir until combined.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture to form the cookie dough. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough over the brownie batter and gently swirl or press them into the top.
- Decorate with Halloween candies and gently press them into the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is just set. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
