Description
Garlic Butter Beef and Rice Skillet – A creamy, savory one-pan meal featuring ground beef, garlic butter rice, and a cheddar–Parmesan sauce, ready in under 45 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 cup long-grain white rice, rinsed
- 2 ½ cups beef or chicken broth
- 1 cup milk (or dairy-free milk of choice)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or dairy-free alternative)
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (or dairy-free alternative)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and onion, cooking until beef is browned and onion softened. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in garlic, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add rice and stir to coat in the butter and beef mixture. Pour in broth, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 18–20 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Stir in milk, cheddar, and Parmesan until creamy and smooth.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Ground turkey can be used in place of beef for a lighter option.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute dairy-free milk and cheese alternatives.
- Beef or chicken broth works; choose based on your preference or dietary needs.
