- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- ½ cup white chocolate chips or candy melts
- 12 candy eyeballs (store-bought or homemade)
- Red gel icing (for bloodshot effect)
- Optional: colored frosting or icing to create irises
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well.
- Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 22–25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Cool completely.
- Cut brownies into 12 squares or circles using a cookie cutter.
- Melt white chocolate and spoon small circles on top of each brownie. Immediately press a candy eyeball into the center of each.
- Use red gel to create bloodshot lines radiating from the eye. Add colored icing around the eyeball for extra detail, if desired.
- Let set before serving or chilling.
Notes
- Let brownies cool completely before decorating to ensure the eyes set properly.
- Decorate soon after cooling or chill briefly to help the decorations set.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
- To make smaller eyeballs, cut into 24 pieces and adjust decoration accordingly.
