Description
Easy Asian Dumpling Potsticker Soup is a quick, cozy, comforting soup loaded with juicy dumplings, fresh veggies, and a savory broth.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 12–15 frozen halal dumplings or potstickers (chicken or veggie)
- 1 cup shredded napa cabbage or baby spinach
- ½ cup shredded carrots
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Optional: chili oil, sesame seeds, fresh cilantro
Instructions
- Heat sesame oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in the chicken broth, water, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Bring to a simmer.
- Add frozen dumplings directly to the broth. Simmer for 6–8 minutes or until dumplings are cooked through.
- Stir in cabbage and carrots, simmering another 2 minutes until veggies are tender.
- Serve hot, garnished with green onions, a drizzle of chili oil, and sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- You can use chicken or veggie dumplings; for a vegetarian version, use veggie dumplings and vegetable broth.
- To keep this lighter, use less sesame oil and/or a smaller amount of dumplings.
- For extra spice, add chili oil or fresh chili flakes.
- Stir in greens at the end to retain color and texture.
