Description
Copycat Texas Roadhouse Rolls: Soft, fluffy rolls inspired by the restaurant classic, easy to make at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- ¼ cup warm water (110°F)
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 ½–4 cups all-purpose flour (more as needed)
- 2 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water with a pinch of sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together warm milk, sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Stir in the yeast mixture.
- Add flour gradually, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down dough and roll out to about ½ inch thick. Cut into squares or rectangles (traditional Texas Roadhouse style).
- Place rolls on a greased baking sheet, cover, and let rise another 30–40 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F for 12–15 minutes, until golden brown.
- Brush with melted butter immediately after baking. Serve warm with cinnamon honey butter.
Notes
- For extra softness, you can let dough rise a second time before shaping.
- If you don’t have a stand mixer, you can mix by hand and knead on a floured surface.
- Dough can be divided into 18–20 pieces for consistent rolls.
- Cinnamon honey butter to serve: mix softened butter with honey and a pinch of cinnamon.
