Description

Budget Friendly Asian Beef Spaghetti Quick and Delicious is a budget-conscious fusion dish that combines savory Asian-style ground beef with spaghetti for a fast, filling dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz spaghetti (or gluten-free noodles if preferred)
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (like canola or avocado)
  • 1 lb ground halal beef
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce or tamari
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce (check for halal)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup chopped green cabbage or bok choy
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Optional: sesame seeds, fresh cilantro, lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  3. Add garlic and ginger. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Toss in the carrots and cabbage, cooking until just tender, about 2–3 minutes.
  6. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the sauce and beef mixture.
  7. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, cilantro, or a squeeze of lime if desired.

Notes

  • Sub gluten-free noodles if desired.
  • Use low-sodium soy sauce to reduce sodium.
  • This dish uses halal beef; confirm halal certification if needed.
  • For milder flavor, reduce or omit the red pepper flakes.
  • Leftovers refrigerate well for 2–3 days; reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave.
