Description

Beefy Garlic Butter Bowl: a creamy, comforting skillet dish of garlic butter beef served over fluffy rice and smothered in a cheddar sauce for an easy weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook rice according to package instructions. Fluff and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add ground beef, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until beef is browned and fully cooked.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the beef and stir well to coat.
  5. Slowly pour in the milk while stirring. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce slightly thickens, about 2–3 minutes.
  6. Add shredded cheddar cheese and stir until melted and creamy.
  7. Serve the garlic butter beef mixture over the cooked rice. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Leftover beef and sauce can be refrigerated for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop.
  • For a thicker sauce, simmer a bit longer or whisk in a little more flour mixed with milk.
  • To lighten slightly, use half-and-half or milk with a touch of water; you can also use reduced-fat cheese and butter.
  • Parsley garnish is optional and adds color.
